RAIN OUTS / SCHEDULE CHANGE / CANCELLATION
If a game is rained out

  • then Team Reps should contact the Statistician [email protected] within 24 hours. The Statistician will reschedule any rain out games at the next closest available date. There may be no notification of a rescheduled game other than updating the involved teams’ website at least 3 days (72 hours) prior to the selected date. Rescheduling games with less than 72 hours’ notice will only be done after consulting with both teams involved.  Team reps should notify the statistician if any dates are not suitable for rescheduling the game at the time of the rainout.

If a team wants to reschedule a game

Inside 72 hours of game time:
▪ both teams would have to agree to the reschedule
▪ the team seeking the change would have to pay for the new diamond cost at the current rate rounded up to the
nearest $5 ($105 for 2023)
▪ a $25 charge to be paid to the statistician for the extra work involved in rescheduling a game
▪ a charge of $25 to be paid to the umpire for the late notice
▪ this would total ($105+$25+$25) = $155.00

Inside the 30-day diamond cancellation window as per the city policy:
▪ both teams would have to agree to the reschedule
▪ the team seeking the change would have to pay for the new diamond cost at the current rate rounded up to the nearest $5 ($105 for 2023)
▪ there would be a $25 charge to be paid to the statistician for the extra work involved in rescheduling a game
▪ total cost would be $130 – No umpire costs

Outside the 30-day window
▪ both teams would have to agree to the reschedule
▪ there would be a $25 charge to be paid to the statistician for the extra work involved in rescheduling a game
▪ total cost would be $25

If a team forfeits a game:
▪ Regardless of timing of the forfeit, advanced notice or not, the umpire has been paid for in the league fees and should be paid full fee for the game
▪ Half of the diamond costs have been paid for in the league fees by the offending team and they should be charged (applied against their performance bond) for the other half of the diamond fee to be applied to the performance bond of the non-offending team for losing a game
▪ There is no work for the Statistician so there is no fee applied for this

Teams must show up to the diamonds unless notified of a rain out or cancellation. Failure to do so may result in a forfeit. Check the City of Guelph website for daily updates at http://guelph.ca/seasonal/sports-field-status/
