Registration will open Wed March 8th. Sorry for the date shift from previous
messages as we must coordinate with the opening of SloPitch Ontario registration
to minimize overall efforts for both players and the registration team.
I want to share below important current information concerning
our plans for the season.
1.
Welcoming Back our Sponsors
This season we have again reached out to our local
community business partners concerning potential sponsorship. Many of these are past sponsors as well as
current and past league players who want to show their support. Everyone should appreciate that this
sponsorship allows us to establish overall player fees at LESS
than what it costs to operate the league and our functions. Please show your support in return to our
sponsors and show them your patronage.
Below is a listing of current generous sponsors:
- - Al's Appliance
- - Allstate Insurance
- - CBI Health
- - Dominos Pizza
- - Dunbar and Associates
- - EDOX Swiss Watches
- - The Fat Duck Gastro Pub
- - The Hockey Shop
- - Italian Canadian Club
- - RU Serious Tap &
Grill
- - T&M Construction
- - Victory Oak Homes

Registration
Registration will open
March 8th.
- Registration will ONLY
be available online from the League website.
Manual or printed registrations will not be accepted.
- Only online payments via PayPal or etransfer will
be accepted. As indicated above overall
all player costs are LESS than the actual costs because of volunteer and
sponsorship support. The summary of 2023
costs are:
·
Single night registration - $185
·
If available second night registration (notified after end of March
if positions are available) - $65
·
Closing banquet guest ticket fee (player fees included in
registration) - $50
- Requirement for ALL players to register with
SloPitch Ontario (https://slopitch.org/players) to
have personal and league insurance (cost per player is $16.95 payable to SPO).
- There is no current plan to verify Covid
19 Vaccination status unless this becomes a condition identified by our diamond
providers or Public Health officials.
There will be an option to submit your name for
consideration to play on the alternate night.
If there are vacant positions at the close of registration (Mar 31st)
players will be contacted in the order that their registration was received
online.
Please talk up the league with friends and family
members so that others can benefit and experience the league.
3.
Will the Season be Different?
As we did last year, we will follow any requirements
from the City of Guelph as well as the University of Guelph as a condition of
our diamond rental agreements. We will also
take guidance from Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health, as well as other
sports organizations like SloPitch Ontario concerning recommendations for the
Season format and rules.
If necessary, we will establish rules that will apply
on and around the diamonds.
We ARE PLANNING TO HAVE OUR OPENING BANQUET THIS
YEAR along with the closing banquet at the end of the season.
4.
Communications – Website, Facebook and eMail
The league will continue to provide communications
with players thru the league’s website (Guelph
Men's Recreational Slopitch League (Guelph Slo Pitch), Facebook page (Guelph Men's
Recreational Slo-Pitch League | Facebook) and email.
As always I look forward to meeting again on the ball
diamonds. Please feel free to email me directly if you have any questions or concerns
at [email protected].
Regards,
Tom Curtis
