Welcome back to the RCMSPL and the 2022 season!
Good day all,

I hope my email finds you and your families well during this difficult time in our lives.

Welcome back to the RCMSPL and the 2022 season!!

We anticipate having a full season this year. In addition, we are excited to welcome back many teams who we’ve missed over the past two years. We hope you all are as excited and ready as we are to inject a little fun back into our lives as we are. Your Executive has been hard at work over the winter securing the Guelph Lake Diamonds for our use and enjoyment once again in 2022.

Naturally we continue to look to the province to determine provincial restrictions and/or mandates that may impact division sizes, masking requirements, screening tools or anything else they decide to implement. As always, we will communicate all updates to you as soon as we become aware and are able to.

One strategy that we are choosing to implement proactively and independently of Provincial restriction/guidelines is adopting a virtual meeting platform via “ZOOM” to accommodate our Annual General Meetings (AGM), which was postponed this past Fall, as well our season preparation meeting to follow this spring. This will allow us to set and maintain meeting dates and expectations without having to worry about the limitations that continue to be out of our control for in-person meetings.

In order to have the most up to date and accurate information on file, please send me your team’s intentions for the 2022 season complete with team name and contact information.

Our plan is to host our AGM in March via ZOOM, additional details to be distributed shortly. As per our Constitution, please send me any Constitutional Proposals by March 4th, 2022, in order for them to be included in the AGM and to be voted on by the membership.

We have also adjusted our season preparation meeting structure this year to take place over two meetings. Our first meeting in March, which will serve as our AGM, will also be when the first half of your league fees are due. We will share that specific amount before the meetings; however, we encourage you to start recruiting and collecting as soon as you can. The 2nd meeting will take place in April at which time the balance of your league fees will be due.

I am sure there will be many questions at the AGM and we will strive to provide answers wherever possible, and will take away the ones we don’t have immediate answers to.

Some topics that we are currently considering with this season’s AGM in mind include:

· Bat testing and bat rules (ie. ThumbPrint from last year)
· Playing strategies / logistics to protect the health and safety of players
· Expected expenses for rental of diamonds/lights and balls
· League Fees · Schedule (season and playoffs)
· Divisional Alignment

We will strive to have meeting dates/details provided no less than one week prior to all meetings. If you have any questions regarding your performance bond or anything else league related, please contact me directly.

We look forward to seeing you at the AGM and please remember to submit your Constitutional Proposals to me no later than March 4th to be considered for the AGM.

Thank you,

Jon, Brad, Brandi RCMSPL Executive
